Aging

Both past and present forms of art have a lot of common topics, characters and places. One of them is a fountain of youth. Some people claim it to be a part of myth about youth. It is usually referred to as an inexhaustible source, which presents everyone with one of the greatest gifts of all times - youth. Some people assert to have found its location, but still it is one of the most debatable and mysterious symbols of nowadays, which is considered to grant its founder with immorality of soul and body.

We hope that soon with the development of science and technologies mankind would reach its perhaps greatest aim - stay immortal. But still everyone has to understand that acquiring eternal youth is a complete process, which should be looked upon without taking our aging into consideration. Many clever researchers tried to struggle this task, but their efforts had not reached the results they expected.

Still in the process of studying of the very problem of human aging, researchers have found a specific term that embraces the aging process of all human beings - senescence. It is usually referred to as impairment of human beings within the time progress. Scientists believe that senescence is degradation on a biochemical level, which is a normal component of life of human beings.

It is a well-known fact, that most living beings have different aging and life periods. Even the mammals, which may have the same size, for example, bats and rodents. So the senescence differs depending upon species of animals. Rodents are considered to be more tenacious, and their life and aging period is up to 30 years, while bats usually live for about two or three years. There are also the species, which may live up to 200 years, for instance, turtles have the specific trait, which is called negligible senescence and allows them not to age as quickly as many other animals.
